Enter the front door of the House and you will be greeted by caring volunteers and a host of services to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. In the large dining room you’re likely to find a community group preparing one of three home-cooked meals served daily. Throughout the house you’ll find a variety of places to sit quietly whether it be the library, chapel, study loft, or meditation garden. Wherever you go, you will pass members of other families who are having their own similar experience. Over dinner or while folding clothes in the laundry room you might share your day with another parent. The greetings you exchange at breakfast the next morning might serve as an encouraging start to the day. When you get on the Ronald McDonald House van to go to the hospital, you might sit down still feeling anxious and concerned, but you will be rested, fed, and confident that you are not alone in your journey.
