Here's a Word from our 2010
Trains at NorthPark Co-Chairs!
Dear Friends of RMHD -
Fall is finally in the air! As we enjoy the cooler weather and get ready for the holiday season, The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas has been busy redesigning an all-new Trains at NorthPark attraction, which rolls from November 20 through January 2, 2011. As your 2010 Co-Chairs, we would first like to introduce ourselves and tell you how honored we are to be a part of this special holiday tradition.
I’m Christine Cook, and my husband Chris and I have visited the Trains with our children Catherine (9) and Christopher (8) every year since we moved back to Dallas in 2003 to start our own business, Sleep Experts. Recently the members of our Sleep Experts family have enjoyed being involved with Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, from donating new mattresses sets for the beautiful new 60-bedroom House, to hosting a toy drive for the children and their families. I have been deeply touched by the true feeling of home and community that the RMHD provides for so many families each year.
I’m Amy Davis, and along with my husband Bill and our four children, ranging in ages from 14 to 24, we have volunteered at Ronald McDonald House at various times through our lives including Movie Nights, Art Hours and Patient Parties. This is our first time to work on an event for the House, and what we have found to be the most special part is the home-like feeling you get when you walk in the front door. For injured or ill children, and the families who are caring for them, nothing could be more comforting than the warm, welcoming feeling you get at the RMHD.
Please also join us in giving thanks to JoAnne and Eddy Moore, our Honorary Trains chairs this season, and Norm Bagwell, CEO of Bank of Texas, the returning Presenting Sponsor. Their continued support is greatly appreciated, as the new House requires even more funding to help more families.
We invite you to come out to the see the all-new exhibit designed by Dallas-based TrainWorx by T W Design. There are sure to be some new surprises in store. Most importantly, share the news with your friends and family and let’s make this our biggest year yet for the Trains at NorthPark.
Thank you for your support, and we'll see you at the station!
